La Mesa Boogie 2X12 Road King Horizontal Cabinet si fonda in gran parte sulle caratteristiche dalla Mesa Boogie 2X12 Rectifier Horizontal Cabinet, ad eccezione fatta per l'aggiunta di un pannello verticale al centro che separa il lato Open Back da quello Closed Back, ovvero il lato con il cono Celestion Vintage 30 da quello con il Celestion Custom 90.
Il risultato è una cassa con una maggiore gamma di frequenze, con bassi ancora più pronunciati e frequenze alte ancora più brillanti.
Come tutte le casse Mesa Boogie 2X12 Road King Horizontal Cabinet è realizzata in betulla del Baltico "Marine Grade" con pannello frontale in juta: un cabinet estremamente resistente, prodotto senza compromessi in termini qualità.
