Description:
The Martin D-18 is undoubtedly one of the models that have made history for the American brand. Desired by generations of musicians, it has become iconic thanks to its powerful and defined sound, with an emphasis on midrange frequencies.
Featuring a long 25.4" scale, this guitar boasts a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. It's a perfect instrument for strumming and flatpicking, but also ideal for solo guitarists.
This particular guitar belongs to the 2025 Standard Series, which has further refined the already outstanding Standard Series Reimagined models to offer even higher performance, both in terms of sound and comfort.
The major innovation is the adoption of the Golden Era bracing, previously reserved exclusively for Custom Shop productions as well as the Modern Deluxe and Authentic series. This technical choice gives the instrument an even fuller and richer sound while maintaining the clarity typical of Martin guitars.
Another improvement concerns the neck, which now features the Golden Era Modified “Low Oval” profile. It’s slimmer at the lower frets for a more comfortable grip, but gradually becomes thicker higher up the fretboard, enhancing overall ergonomics. The fingerboard is slightly thinner, following the design of historic Pre-War Martin guitars, and features beveled edges for greater playing comfort.
The bridge has also been redesigned and now features the Golden Era Modern Belly style, also echoing the bridges of Pre-War Martin models.
Overall, the 2025 Martin Standard Series comes even closer to the brand’s traditional construction standards, offering instruments with authentic character and improved playability.
