La Gibson SG Standard '61 è un ritorno alle origini. Racchiude tutte le specifiche amate dai chitarristi di tutto il mondo dell'originale SG del 1961.

Nello specifico troviamo un profilo del manico Slim Taper, molto veloce, ed una giuntura tra manico e corpo che si ultima all'altezza del 22° tasto, rendendo estremamente agevole l'accesso agli ultimi tasti.

I pickup sono dei Gibson BurstBucker 61R e BurstBucker 61T, humbucker dalle caratteristiche vintage, dal suono allo stesso tempo caldo e potente. L'elettronica, tradizionale, è caratterizzata da potenziometri logaritmici e condensatori Orange Drop.

In particolare questa versione appartiene alla serie di strumenti in edizione limitata, Custom Colors, caratterizzati da finiture "fuori serie".
