Description:
The Gibson Hummingbird EARLY 60s Golden Era Custom Shop Adirondack - Heritage Sunburst - a guitar inspired by the 1960s!
Our Gibson Hummingbird Early 60's Golden Era Adirondack VOS from the Gibson Custom Shop is a legend among guitars. The Gibson Hummingbird is known for its clear transparency, powerful assertiveness and its characteristic sound! The historic Hummingbird was the first square-shoulder dreadnought guitar in the Gibson range in 1960 and has been one of the most popular and best-selling acoustic guitars from Gibson ever since.
Its balanced sound, which reproduces the individual strings concisely, precisely and clearly and yet delivers an absolutely solid bass foundation, has made the Hummingbird a classic among acoustic guitars. As it was back then, it is still made by hand in the American factory in Bozeman with great attention to detail. Because every single model should live up to the Gibson slogan “only a Gibson is good enough”.
Adirondack spruce (also known as Red Spruce) is considered the best tonewood for a guitar top. A feature also takes the impressive sound to an even higher level. Adirondack spruce, which acts like a booster due to its higher density but lower weight and makes the tone more direct, wider and more voluminous. This makes this instrument from the Custom Shop a marvel not only in terms of appearance but also in terms of sound. Adriondack underlines the voluminous sound without becoming intrusive and is the non-plus-ultra in guitar making, an excellent response and agility with a vibration resonance to melt away, rich and wonderfully defined bass, muted mids and crystal-clear highs. In short, the Hummingbird EARLY 60s Golden Era Custom Shop Adirondack model is a unique "favorite guitar" from Gibson for all players who value a "special sound experience".
But when it comes to "durability - a guitar for life", Gibson has processed its Hummingbird in such a way that it guarantees years of playing pleasure. The fretboard edges have been rounded to achieve an even better feel for the hand, and thanks to the patented PLEK process, the string position is more perfect than ever before at the factory. The fingerboard and the bridge are treated with finishing oil, which is even more durable and better reproduces the natural resonances of the woods.
The Hummingbird - more than ever THE GUITAR from Gibson - handmade in the Custom Shop Montana, USA. The inspiration was the famous guitars from the 60s that were produced by Gibson during the Golden Era.
