Gibson Firebird 2018 - EB

The Firebird was introduced in the 1960s to break the mould. Inspired by the iconic tailfins of the American automobiles of the time, this instrument will transport you back to a pivotal time in rock'n'roll history.

The body is solid mahogany, and as with a lot of Gibson's 2018 models, it boasts luxurious resonance and weighty low-end emphasis. The neck has a 24.75" scale length with a Torrefied Granadillo fretboard, which some say adds a little extra brightness to the otherwise full-bodied tone, whilst retaining the familiar smooth texture of rosewood.

A double-barrel combo of mini humbuckers ensures that the mahogany sings with all of the bite you'd expect from smaller single-coil pickups but with heaps of powerful sustain and weight. These classic-looking pickups are also perfectly in keeping with this beautiful instrument's all-American look and sound!

Gibson's trusty aluminium stop bar and Tune-O-Matic bridge make another appearance - understated in look but efficient and hardy in functionality. Black top-hat knobs and a black pickguard (complete with Firebird logo!) are the final components of this radical instrument that oozes old-school attitude.
