La Starcaster è tornata, direttamente dagli anni '70. Questo modello occupa un posto speciale nella storia di Fender, una delle poche chitarre semi-hollowbody offset. Apprezzata decenni dopo da una generazione di chitarristi "avventurieri", la Starcaster torna disponibile entrando a far parte della serie Modern Player.

La chitarra consta di un corpo in acero con buche ad "f". Il suo manico con profilo "C" è abbinato ad una tastiera in acero con radius da 9.5" e 22 tasti medium jumbo. I pickup sono due classici Fender Wide Range mentre i controlli sono due volumi, due toni ed un selettore a 3 posizioni.
