Description:
Originally introduced as a student model in the 1960s, the Fender Mustang quickly gained popularity among players of all levels thanks to its compact body, short scale, and unique tonal character. This particular 1978 example represents one of the final versions produced before the model was discontinued in 1982.
It features the classic Offset body shape in alder, finished in a timeless Walnut with a vintage-style Black pickguard, offering an unmistakably '70s aesthetic. The neck is a one-piece maple design with a satin finish and flat fretboard radius, paired with a 24" scale—ideal for comfort, fast playability, and expressive bending.
The traditional Floating Tremolo bridge adds character and dynamic range, while the vintage-style tuners keep things stable and authentic. Electronics include two single-coil pickups and two slider switches, allowing in-phase and out-of-phase pickup combinations for a surprisingly versatile palette of tones. Simple master volume and tone controls round out the setup.
This Mustang comes with a soft case in walnut brown, and delivers all the quirky charm and vibe that made these late-'70s models so iconic.
