Chiunque è un po' pratico di storia Fender, quantomeno recente, non può che pensare ad un artista guardando questa meravigliosa Fender Custom Shop, ed in particolare ad un modello Signature molto ricercato per la sua bellezza ma purtroppo non più disponibile nel catalogo Fender.
Questa Fender Custom 1962 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in finitura Aged Black, realizzata attraverso il programma Custom Order del Fender Custom Shop, di cui ricordiamo Gino Guitars è Showcase Dealer, è un tributo alla chitarra a lungo utilizzata dal celeberrimo chitarrista John Mayer.
Il risultato è davvero strabiliante. Lo strumento è bellissimo, oltre che ovviamente suonare divinamente.
Le specifiche sono il tanto amato connubio tra impostazione vintage e accorgimenti tecnici contemporanei. Troviamo il tradizionale corpo in ontano, un manico in acero con un veloce profilo Mid 60's Oval "C", una tastiera in palissandro selezionato a mano con margini smussati per il massimo del comfort e raggio di curvatura da 9.5".
L'elettronica consta naturalmente di un set di Fender Custom Handwound 62/63 Stratocaster Single Coil cablati con wiring moderno.
