About Us

Gino Guitars was founded in 1967 out of the founder’s passion for music, Gino della Porta, a professional jazz guitarist. Born in Ascoli Piceno in 1938, he moved at a young age to the vibrant Lombardy region with his family. It was in Milan where Gino made the connections that helped him further his guitar career, which had begun earlier in central Italy with the Nino Dale band, where he was later replaced by a young Ivan Graziani.
After spending over two decades performing across Italy and Europe, collaborating with renowned artists such as Nicola Arigliano, Tony Renis, Quartetto Cetra, Nilla Pizzi, and many others, Gino decided to step away from performing and invest his passion for music by opening one of the first "modern" music stores in the Varese province.
Since the opening of the first store in Gallarate, in Via XXV Aprile in 1967, the business has developed and grown steadily, changing locations twice before settling in its current location on Via Cavour.
It’s a journey marked by constant challenges, changes in the market and culture, which Gino has always tackled with tenacity, integrity, and passion, making the shop a true institution in the area.
In the early 2000s, following the move to the current Gallarate location, a young Gianluca, still a student, began collaborating with his father in managing the store. His drive to specialize in guitars and develop an innovative website helped launch Gino Guitars onto the national and continental stage, establishing it as a key reference in the market.
In 2016, the opening of the second store in Milan, located in Viale Certosa. A 400 m² space designed as a boutique, with an inventory of over 800 guitars from the best brands, quickly became a national landmark.
Over 50 years of experience in the music industry is a point of pride that few music stores can claim. Our business is based on four key principles: quality, competitiveness, professionalism, competence, and transparency.
Quality - We are always on the lookout for the best, eager to provide our customers with the best selection of products the market has to offer, for every price range. Considering the vast array of items on the market today, our job is to carefully select the best products, brand by brand, based on quality/price ratio. Whether you visit our store or our website, we aim to offer you a wide range of products and ensure you find the one that best suits your needs.
Competitiveness - Our high-quality service doesn’t mean prohibitive prices. Our team works hard to offer prices that are in line with the market, both in-store and online, without compromising on service quality. Our philosophy is that of a boutique—offering top-tier service, a wide selection for all budgets, and competitive wholesale prices.
Professionalism - Without this, any business is short-lived: it’s essential to provide professional service, from pre-sale to post-sale assistance, and through a website with up-to-date stock information and rich multimedia content, such as our unique "Guitar Gallery" service. Gino Guitars offers all of this while keeping the passion alive: we don’t sell sterile appliances, we offer tangible dreams, and that’s why in our store, you’ll always find people who share your passion for music and musical instruments.
Competence - In the world of musical instruments, it’s no longer enough to have a surface-level understanding of products. Whether you’re visiting our store or contacting us online, you’ll be supported by knowledgeable staff who can provide you with essential information to make an informed decision. Our main goal isn’t just to sell, but to ensure our customers are satisfied and confident in their purchase. We’re constantly studying the products available on the market, taking part in training courses from manufacturers like Gibson Toneknowlodgy, Fender Academy, and Taylor University, and we stay in close contact with major manufacturers and distributors.
Transparency - Often, there’s an inherent distrust among customers toward salespeople: at Gino Guitars, we require our staff to offer advice as if they were advising themselves, ensuring that no misleading recommendations are made. This also applies to our pricing policy, which is always the same online and in-store: a consistency we believe is essential for respecting our customers.
Gino Guitars stands out as a national reference point for guitarists and bassists: in recent years, we’ve received awards such as the prestigious Epiphone Dealer Award, and we are proud to showcase one of the largest Gibson and Fender collections in Europe. Of course, our selection includes many other major global brands.
